Jewell Christine Braswell

Jewell Christine Braswell, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

A memorial service is planned for 5:00 PM on Monday, October 27, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St.  The family will receive friends for visitation directly following the service.

Lovingly known as "Jewelldean", she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was of the Christian faith. She had been employed by Roy Lee Smith at Magnolia Packing, and as a waitress at the Lighthouse Restaurant and the Huddle House.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kimberly Platten and James Barfield (Candy); grandchildren: Trinity Platten (Caleb Odom), Kamley Platten, Tommy Howell, and Dallas Barfield; and great-grandchildren: Caleb Howell, Kainen Howell, and Kylie Howell.
