Ed Donald Scott, a loving father and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 83.
Ed was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and pillar of strength in his family. He is survived by his siblings, Elizabeth Ivey, Lissy Partin, and Roxie Brady; his beloved children, Beverly Long, Sheila Warner and Marlene Chancey; his grandchildren Michael Long, Brittany Arp (Blake), Rob Anderson (Abby), Gregory Warner, Nathan Anderson, Seth Warner, Madison Chancey; and his great-grandchildren, Paisley, Walker, Zara, Baylor, and Oliver.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Mattie Elder, Minnie Scott, Annelle Titshaw, Bobby Scott, and Kenneth Scott.
He served four years in the Air Force after high school. He was very involved in his community and church. He retired after 34 years from the Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany (MCLB).
The viewing will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10 AM at Smithville Methodist Church. After the service, he will be laid to rest at Smithville Cemetery by his mother’s side.
Those serving as Pallbearers will include: Gregory Warner, Rob Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Seth Warner, Blake Arp, and Michael Harville.
