Mrs. Doris Jean Usry passed away on her 85th birthday, September 9, 2026, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
A memorial service is planned for 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Brother Troy Fripp will officiate.
Born September 9, 1941 in Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Olin Thornton and the late Fannie Mae Meadows Thornton.
Mrs. Usry worked for over 16 years at Walmart in Americus.
Survivors include her husband, Barry D. Usry of Americus; her children: Donnie Cromer of Smithville, TN, Melisa Salter of Warner Robins, GA, Melanie Harris of Jeffersonville, GA, and Susie Sensaboy of Kingston, TN; her sister Mary Register of Pine Mountain, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, J.A. Sensaboy; and two sisters: Evelyn Howell and Estelle Wilson.
